Acupuncture
What is Laser Acupuncture?
Laser (which stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) has now become an important tool for Acupuncture. It signifies a major breakthrough in this new technology which makes efficient acupuncture treatment possible without the use of stainless steel needles.
With the use of the laser, acupuncture becomes a painless process and readily acceptable to everyone young and old by producing effects of diminishing inflammation, relieving pain, enhancing metabolism, improving tissue regeneration and immunity to disease.
How does it work?
The Laser apparatus produces a low heat light, pressure, and electromagnetic wave, which stimulates the acupuncture point of the human body. An energy is conducted into the acupuncture point, which excites the channels and its properties, regulates organism function, and promotes metabolism. As an added benefit, this new medical method possesses the function of both acupuncture and moxabustion.
Advantages of Laser over Needle:
- Painless and without sensation of numbness this is particularly useful for treating children and people with an aversion to needles.
- Harmless – since the energy penetrating into the skin is relatively low, tissue damage is not a concern.
- Complete sterility – this is a safe, noninvasive technique (does not penetrate the skin)
